Ant Hopper and Si Goodall

Our founding story

Our founders, Ant and Si, worked with big global brands at big network agencies for more than 20 years. They saw that the big agency model is part of the problem. As holding companies grow, their staff are pushed further away from real people.  Senior leaders turn up for the pitch, then vanish. Sub-brands are bolted together, then squabble over bits of revenue. Smaller clients get junior teams and shitty service on their business.

 Over a beer, Ant & Si scribbled down a phrase on a scrap of paper:

“Big agency thinking, without the big agency bullshit”

They imagined a new breed of agency. Where the senior team are in it with you from start to finish. Where clients get the best talent on their business, not the cheapest available. Where creativity is not constrained by organisational silos. Where everything is focused on real work for real people.

A month later, The Ninety-Niners was born.
